Habit #6 Synergize

What does this habit mean to you?  What differences are you celebrating?

  1. My father is (sad to say) very racist. I’m always telling him how bad it must feel and how horrible it is to discriminate ANYONE. He’s always making all these racist comments and jokes; I hate it when he does.
Usually, this ends up in a huge argument and I get sent to my room. But, at least I know that I am standing up for what I believe is wrong.

  2. I’m celebrating the difference of minorities. We all have different cultures and backgrounds. And I don’t know about you guy’s but I LOVE being Mexican!! I mean the food, the clothes, the traditions, I just love it all!!! I’m a proud Latina! Ha ha I’m funny.
But really celebrating different minorities, styles, and all that is something we should all do. Like Sean Covey says “We are all a minority of one.” ONE as in ONLY ONE not two or three but ONE. We may not think the same or dress the same but inside we’re all alike in some way.
Synergy to me is like a being on a team. If we don’t work together than we’re not going to go anywhere. Like in soccer for example. If you don’t pass the ball what’s going to happen? It’s either going to get taken away or you’re going to tire yourself out before the first half even ends. And of course you’ll have all those angry team mates to deal with later. So remember PASS THE BALL!!!!

  3. Synergize is the most important habit to me, because I think that this habit is about working together to get things done. That is exactly what we have to do. We are supposed to work as a team to get everything that we need to do finished. I am celebrating being in the advanced classroom. Even though other people may say that we are nerds, I think that they are just jealous, because we are going to have more education and go to college to have a bright future. So I am proud of being in the advanced classroom.

  4. This Habit means plenty to me; I believe that this habit has so much to it. One quote that I liked was “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much”. This is so true, I agree with it 100%. One way you can see it is…well…lets say you recycle. you are doing something, but it’s little compared to if everyone were to recycle.
I am celebrating numerous differences; an example would be my cousin and I. We are complete opposites, and before I read habit 6 I would never talk to her. We just assumed we wouldn’t get along. I talked to her, and she turned out to be really cool.

  5. My cousin is sad to say a hypocrite. I am always telling him that faking your religion and then making fun of it is not funny at all. This can bring you serious problems, but he just doesn’t seem to understand. Every time I tell him not to do that, we just end up fighting. He just keeps on going on and on, and this gets me very upset. At least I know I am standing up for what I think is wrong.

  6. The thing I have been neglecting is my body. Ever since football ended for me I have been eating lots of junk food and not exercising that much. I have fixed this bad habit by me joining a basketball team and now I am getting in shape and I am getting healthier and eating healthier.

  7. The diffrences that I am celebrating is of all cultures, ethnicities, and races. I find it interesting all the diffrent stories of folklore and legends that other people have and it makes you wiser to know all the diffrent stories and experiences of the world.

  8. What it means to me is that work with someone or something even if you're different or not. I celebrate all kinds of things like just being different because if we were all the same it would be boring and we would never learn from each other.

  9. What this habit means to me is that we have to act like a flock of geese. Meaning that we have to act as a whole and not just individually. One thing that I’m doing is that I’m helping around the house more frequently. By doing this I am helping myself but others at the same time too. By helping around the house, I am getting exercise and helping my body. Also, I am helping my parents because I am diminishing the amount of work they have to do.

  10. This habit to me means that we should all work together, and not care of the differences in between, instead we should appreciate each other and start to work as a real team. I always celebrate the different cultures in every one, I like to see and learn things from other cultures, they have so many different interesting activities and foods, as well as all the kind people.. My whole family is Mexican and I'm really happy of that, the Mexican culture offers many delicious foods and many other interesting and fun activities. I believe that in order for everything to go in a good way, we should start to treat everyone the same way, and we shouldn't discriminate anyone. Synergize means that we should all appreciate each other and work as a real team. We should celebrate the differences that make this world, a better one.

  11. I’m celebrating the difference in minorities. Everybody is different like race and personalities and colors. Just like Lilli said I am proud of being a Mexican like everything Mexicans do for example: the celebrations Mexicans have and our food and clothes we wear. Synergy to me is like being on a team and working together. For example in, football. If the quarterback throws the ball where the receiver can’t get it that means they are not communicating. This is to me synergy.

  12. I also love being Mexican! I love my history, background, culture, and traditions. I don’t just love my traditions. I also love other tradition and styles. We all many not look or dress alike but we all have hearts, and feelings. Never reject or loathe another person just because of their color or race.

  13. Well to me diffrent is my favorite word! I see all kinds of diffrences all around me. I consider myself diffrent from everyone! I go to many diffrent clubs and sports and in all of them their is always a diffrence. I am celebrating them by not caring for their sex, race, color, and anything else and just treating them equally! I think all of us should do that. If we all treated everyone the same no more discrmination would exist. So as Lili stated "PASS THE BALL!"

  14. I am celebrating different minorities, For example our president who is the first African American president. I believe that having Barrack Obama as our president is something to celebrate about (hopefully he’ll do a great job and meet our expectation).

I also like being a mix of two Latin nationality, Mexican and Puerto Rican.

  15. Something to be celebrated is the different minorities, cultures, races, and ethnicities. We all should do this. Although everyone isn’t the same on the outside because we all dress differently and have different tastes. But we’re all alike in some way. It’s like being on one team and we all have to help each other out even if we aren’t the same. We all have to look at one another and we all have to learn from each other even if we don’t get along. That’s just how it works. Like activity we did with Mrs.V last year in 7th grade where she had a flashing light and we all had to hold hands in order for the ball to light up. Just like team work.

  16. What this habit means to me is that we all have to help out each other. For example, when your doing a project, you have to help out and not just do it by yourself. When someone isn't helping out or is trying to do the project by their self, I would tell them that we are a group, and we all have to do it together. That’s the purpose for being in a group.

  17. Synergize to me means to work together. We have to celebrate different cultures and backgrounds. We have to work together in order to succeed. It's basically team work. If one member does do his job than the whole team falls.

  18. Wow these are great answers! Keep it up people!

  19. Synergy to me really just means one. They may be millions of people but we all have to work together. Every person carries out a certain task or job and if that one person fails, we all fail.
